Earth Building
Project Partner: Kunming University of Science and Technology
Project Information:
- Invited by The Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau of Miyi County, the team conducted household surveys for 3 project sites in Malongxiang and Panilianzhen and also introduced briefly the anti-seismic rammed earth construction technology and general cooperation models to the locals in Nov 2021.
- After the introduction, about 10 households expressed their interests to build new earth houses by using such new construction method.

Progress:
Jun - Dec 2023 - Additional 2 households joined the building programme. By Dec, 5 houses were built with acceptance and 1 household was currently undergoing renovation.
Oct 2022 - 4 more households decided to build their houses. Craftsman training was conducted and relevant foundation work commenced.
Aug 2022 - Total 7 houses were built successfully with acceptance.
Jun 2022 - 3 houses were built; 4 houses were under rammed earth construction.
Mar 2022 - 6 households (4 houses) had completed rammed earth construction work; 3 houses were under rammed earth construction.
Dec 2021 - Commencement of foundation work for 5 households.
